Turkey’s death toll from COVID-19 rises to 16,881

Turkey has reported 235 new deaths from coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the country’s death toll from the virus to 16,881, the country’s Health Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

According to the statement, 32,102 more people were tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the number of confirmed cases to 1,898,447.

While at least 5,998 patients are in critical condition, 1,661,191 patients suffering from the disease have so far recovered and been discharged from hospital.

21,490,195 tests for coronavirus have so far been conducted to detect infections in the country.
