Turkey’s overall export unit value index increases by 11.2% in June

As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall export unit value index increased by 11.2% in June, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Wednesday.

In the same month, compared to June 2020, the index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 25.3%, 27.0%, 71.3%, and 7.2%, respectively.

The overall export unit value index increased by 10.6% in Quarter II 2021, compared to the corresponding quarter of the preceding year.

The overall export volume index increased by 32.2%

The overall export volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 32.2% in June. Compared with June 2020, the index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 3.7%, 33.3%, 42.7%, and 39.9%, respectively.

The overall export volume index increased by 53.8% in Quarter II 2021, compared to the corresponding quarter of the preceding year.

The overall import unit value index increased by 24.2%

As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall import unit value index increased by 24.2% in June. The index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 14.7%, 57.8%, 54.8%, and 20.1%, respectively.

The overall import unit value index increased by 25.6% in Quarter II 2021, compared to the corresponding quarter of the preceding year.

The overall import volume index increased by 11.7%

In June, the overall import volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 11.7%. While the index for food, beverages and tobacco decreased by 29.9%, the index for crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 11.8%, 49.2%, and 22.9%, respectively.

The overall import volume index increased by 19.8% in Quarter II 2021, compared to the corresponding quarter of the preceding year.

The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index increased by 2.3%

The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index which was 143.9 in May 2021, increased by 2.3%, to 147.3 in June 2021. The calendar-adjusted export volume index which was 110.3 in June 2020, increased by 32.2%, to 145.8 in June 2021.

The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index decreased by 3.4%

The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index which was 110.0 in May 2021, decreased by 3.4%, to 106.2 in June 2021. The calendar-adjusted import volume index which was 97.5 in June 2020, increased by 11.7%, to 108.9 in June 2021.

Terms of trade was 91.6 in June 2021

Terms of trade is calculated by dividing the export unit value index by the import unit value index, then multiplying the result by 100. While terms of trade was 102.3 in June 2020, it decreased by 10.7 points to 91.6 in June 2021.

Terms of trade decreased by 12.3 points to 91.0 in Quarter II 2021, compared to the corresponding quarter of the preceding year.
