The overall export volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 91.8% in April. Compared with April 2020, the index for food, beverages, and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels, and manufactured goods (except food, beverages, and tobacco) increased by 15.6%, 36.3%, 20.2%, and 115.9%, respectively.
The overall import unit value index increased by 23.9%
As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall import unit value index increased by 23.9% in April. The index for food, beverages, and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels, and manufactured goods (except food, beverages, and tobacco) increased by 10.0%, 47.3%, 71.9%, and 16.3%, respectively.
The overall import volume index increased by 30.1%
In April, the overall import volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 30.1%. While the index for food, beverages, and tobacco decreased by 10.2%, the index for crude materials (except fuels), fuels, and manufactured goods (except food, beverages, and tobacco) increased by 17.4%, 29.8%, and 40.4%, respectively.
The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index increased by 7.5%
The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index which was 132.4 in March 2021, increased by 7.5%, to 142.4 in April 2021. The calendar-adjusted export volume index which was 74.1 in April 2020, increased by 91.8%, to 142.1 in April 2021.
The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index decreased by 3.4%
The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index which was 111.8 in March 2021, decreased by 3.4%, to 107.9 in April 2021. The calendar-adjusted import volume index which was 82.5 in April 2020, increased by 30.1%, to 107.3 in April 2021.
Terms of trade were 91.3 in April 2021
Terms of trade are calculated by dividing the export unit value index by the import unit value index, then multiplying the result by 100. While terms of trade were 103.6 in April 2020, it decreased by 12.3 points to 91.3 in April 2021.
