Turkish police seize 66 kilograms of drugs in a truck in Şanlıurfa

Turkish police seize 66 kilograms of drugs in a truck in Turkey’s southeastern Şanlıurfa province, the Provincial Police Department said in a statement on Tuesday.

“Provincial Police Department Anti- Narcotic Crimes Branch teams stopped a truck on suspicion. They seized 66 kilos 150 grams of skunk stashed in 12 pieces during their search on the truck,” the statement said.

“Two suspects were taken into custody on charges of drug trafficking,” the statement added.

Turkey maintains strict laws against the use, possession or trafficking of illegal drugs. If convicted under these offences, one could receive a heavy fine or a prison sentence of 4 to 24 years.
