Turkiye has legitimate security concerns: NATO

"No NATO ally has suffered more terrorist attacks than Turkiye, and, of course, they have the right to address these security concerns,” Stoltenberg said related to Afrin operation.

Speaking at a press conference in Brussels ahead of a NATO defense ministers meeting NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg drew attention that Turkiye briefed NATO last week related to the Afrin operation, said: "No NATO ally has suffered more terrorist attacks than Turkiye, and, of course, they have the right to address these security concerns."

"We are expecting from Turkiye to continue to inform its NATO allies," said Stoltenberg. "Turkiye has the right to deal with its security concerns. No NATO ally has suffered more terrorist attacks than Turkiye, and, of course, they have the right to address these security concerns. Yet, it should do it in a moderate way," he added.

Defense Minister Nurettin Canikli will represent Turkiye in the meetings of NATO defense ministers. Canikli is expected to meet with his U.S. counterpart James Mattis, Stoltenberg and some other ministers of NATO ally countries.
