Turkiye votes for general local elections

56,911,967 voters started to vote in the 194,390 ballot box for general local elections in Turkiye.

People in Turkiye go to the poll on Sunday for voting general local election.

Voting process started at 07.00 in Adıyaman, Ağrı, Artvin, Bingöl, Bitlis, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Erzincan, Erzurum, Gaziantep, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Hakkari, Kars, Malatya, Kahramanmaraş, Mardin, Muş, Ordu, Rize, Siirt, Sivas, Trabzon, Tunceli, Şanliurfa, Van, Bayburt, Batman, Şırnak, Ardahan, Iğdır and Kilis.

Voting process started at 08.00 in other provinces.

The voting process for those who go to the polls at 07.00 will end at 16.00, and it will end at 17.00 for those start voting at 08.00.

56,911,967 voters will vote in the elections.

8,270 candidates will race in 30 metropolitan, 81 provinces, 922 provinces and in 386 towns.

Mayors, provincial general assembly, council members, muhtars and elders to be elected in 194,390 polls.

At the end of the elections, a total of 389 candidates, including 30 in the metropolitan municipality, will be the mayor for 5 years.

One million 156 thousand people will vote for the first time.
