Turkiye's reaction to Greece on "the rejection of the extradition request"

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkiye reacted to the Appeals Court of Athens for the rejection of the extradition request for DHKP/C members Mehmet Doğan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacted to the refusal of the Athens Court of Appeals for the extradition request for the DHKP/C member Mehmet Doğan, who was arrested on November 28, 2017, in Athens.

In a statement made from Turkish Foreign Affairs, the decision was emphasized as "a major disappointment". "This judgment, which is another new example of the Greek courts’ approach on protecting terrorist organizations, neither complies with the international obligations of Greece to combat terrorism nor is it compatible with good neighborly relations," read the statement.
