Two parachutists died after falling from plane in Australia skydiving accident

Two parachutists have died after they fell from an aircraft and landed near an airport runway in a tragic accident at Goulburn in the state’s Southern Tablelands on Sunday.

“Two people have died following a skydiving incident at Goulburn in the state’s southern tablelands today,” NSW Police Public Site said in a statement.

“About 12.50 pm today (Sunday 27 June 2021), emergency services were contacted concerning an aircraft carrying two skydivers that was in difficulty. Two parachutists fell from the aircraft and landed near the runway of the airport. They were located unresponsive and unable to be revived.”

The statement noted that the circumstances surrounding the incident would be investigated by officers attached to The Hume Police District with the assistance of the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.

“A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner,” it added.

The parachutists were men aged in their 30s, according to local media reports.
