Ukraine president hospitalised due to COVID-19

Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskiy has taken to hospital due to COVID-19.

Zelensky tested positive for coronavirus on Monday, according to his office.

He was hospitalized in order to accurately isolate and not expose anyone, the local reports said.

Just after Zelenskiy’s announcement, Ukrainian finance minister, defense minister and presidential office head are also reported to be infected.

Since the start of the pandemic, Ukraine has reported more than 500,000 confirmed coronavirus cases and 9,145 deaths across the country.
