UN: Nearly a million Uighurs must be released immediately

The UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination urged the Communist Chinese administration to immediately release close to a billion Uighur, in custody in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.

The United Nations (UN) urged the communist Chinese government to immediately release a billion Uighur, who are under the "illegal" isolation and imposed to all torture and ill-treatment in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.

The UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the supervisory body of the UN International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, disclosed a report on the 96th session of the UN Geneva Office on 6-30 August.

"Such definitions are used against ethnic and religious minorities, including Uyghur, Buddhist, Tibetan, and Mongolian, who peacefully want to exercise their rights, and facilitate the profile of the offender," the rapporteur criticized the Chinese government's broad definition of the concepts of "terrorism" and "separatism".

"Many ethnic Uyghur and other members of the Muslim minority are being held in detention for long periods of time, often under the pretext of terrorism and religious extremism without any accusation and without trial," the report emphasized the torture and ill-treatment of minorities, particularly the Uyghur people in China.

It was noted that the Muslim minority were frequently stopped by the police, where cell phones were scanned at stations at police control, DNA samples were taken, and applications for leaving the country were not answered for many years, while Muslims were being held under the name of "retraining" in the villages where they were banned even to say hello to each other.

Noting that Muslims are not allowed to go to Hajj, it is also noted that the education of Uyghur language is prohibited in the Hotan city of Sincan Uygur Autonomous Region.
