676 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States’ death toll from the virus to 130,798, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Brazil with 60,713 deaths, the United Kingdom with 43,906 deaths and Italy with 34,788 deaths.
Until now, at least 1,164,680 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.
At least 34,855,642 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.
New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 418,605 confirmed cases, with at least 32,143 deaths.
According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 519,778 people across the world.
