“White House officials confirmed to the delegation of the Syrian Democratic Council, which is in the American capital, Washington, that the commitment of the administration of President Joe Biden about its partnership with the Syrian Democratic Forces and the remain of its country’s forces in the region until the final elimination of the terrorist organization ISIS and its remnants and to support the stability of the region,” the council said in a statement on its website.
“During a meeting that took place on Friday at the White House, the delegation of the Syrian Democratic Council gathered with high representatives of the American administration in the White House, the American side expressed its country’s support for the Syrian Democratic Council and the military forces, SDF, in the areas of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, where SDC represents a great political alliance at the Syrian level. Many important issues related to the Syrian affair and ways to reach a political solution for the crisis that has been going on for more than a decade were also discussed.”
The council went on to say: “In parallel, other meetings were held with prominent members of the US Congress, such as Representative Schneider, a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives, who works in the Subcommittee on the Middle East, North Africa, and Global Counter-Terrorism. The meetings were positive and expressive of Washington’s support for the “SDC” as well as the members of the meeting praised the efforts of ‘SDF’ for the fight against terrorism, stressing at the same time the continuation of their partnership.”
“It is worth noting that the delegation of the Syrian Democratic Council, headed by Mrs. Ilham Ahmed, arrived in Washington, DC last week, and it is scheduled to hold several meetings with American departments and officials to discuss the Syrian issue and the path to its solution in accordance with international laws and Security Council resolutions,” the council added.
