Uzbekistan introduces compulsory coronavirus vaccination for a number of citizens

Uzbek authorities have introduced compulsory vaccination against COVID-19 for citizens of the country over 18 years old, working in the service and education sectors and security officials.

It will be mandatory for employees of trade and service facilities, banks, cultural and entertainment institutions, and recreation areas, as well as military and law enforcement officers, and catering workers to have coronavirus vaccination.

These categories should get the first dose of the covid vaccine by September 1, the second by October 1, and the third by November 1.

Uzbekistan has so far reported 119,388 confirmed coronavirus cases, with 796 deaths and 114,303 recoveries.
