"We have not found support for the condemnation of Afrin operation"

Dutch Prime Minister said they did not found necessary support from EU and NATO for the condemnation of Turkiye due to the operation in Syria's Afrin.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte stated that they couldn’t found necessary support from EU and NATO for their proposal on the condemnation of Turkiye due to its operation against Syria's Afrin.

Stating that the Netherlands and most of EU member countries concerned about the humanitarian situation in Syria, and that the operation against Daesh is damaging, the Dutch Prime Minister suggested Turkiye "to respect for humanitarian rules of war and compliance the ceasefire declared by the UN.".

Touching to the agreement signed between EU and Turkiye for the return of refugees passed to EU member countries, Rutte said: "To be honest, I think Turkey has extremely adhered to the refugee agreement."
