Answering the questions in the special session of the 18th Doha Forum, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu also made statements on a possible Turkiye's operation to the east of Euphrates.
Responding to the question "If elections in Syria returns Assad, will you work with him? Çavuşoğlu said: "If it is a democratic election and if it is a credible one, then everybody should consider [working with Assad]."
"Well, what we are trying to do that we should have the constitution for the country. They should draft themselves. We should prepare the country for the elections," said Çavuşoğlu in Doha.
Stating that the elections should be conducted under the auspices of the United Nations, under the umbrella of the United Nations, Çavuoğlu noted that it has to be an inclusive one.
"Everybody should be able to vote the eligible ones. In Syria or outside of the Syria including refugees in my country and neighboring countries who were resettled in the last seven years. It has to be very credible ones, transparent democratic and fair elections. And at the end Syrian people should decide who is going to rule the country," he added.
Ankara, which strengthened its relations with the ruling AK Party, reacted against Damascus in the people's revolts that began in Syria in 2011 and ended all diplomatic relations with neighboring countries in May 2012.
