We see that the U.S. wants to enter a stalling process: Çavuşoğlu

Speaking on the establishing safe zone in northern Syria, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu accused the US of seeking to stall the agreement.

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu held a joint press conference with Montenegrin Foreign Minister Srdjan Darmanovic in Ankara.

Çavuşoğlu answered the question about establishing a safe zone in the east of the Euphrates with the United States.

Accusing the U.S. of seeking to stall the safe zone agreement in Syria, Turkish Foreign Minister said the steps that the US has taken so far are cosmetic, not satisfactory.

Stating that they got off to a good start with the U.S. regarding a safe zone in Syria, Minister Çavuşoğlu noted that the U.S. can't act independently of the terrorist organization YPG/PYD.

"We see that America wants to enter a stalling process and wants to familiarize Turkey with it. If cooperation fails, we will enter these regions," he said.

While the United States is taking steps with Turkey, it also supports the YPG/PKK, Çavuşoğlu said adding that the United States aims to create a safe zone for terrorists. "Turkey's plan is ready".

"We wanted to work with the United States, but the attitude of the United States is impossible to accept. Their attitude is a pro-PKK/YPG attitude. The removal of PKK/PYD terrorists is a matter of national security for us," Çavuşoğlu said.
