The initiative of Families of people victimized by February 28 and FETO Judiciary Adana Coordinator held a mass press statement for freedom of Islamic prisoners who have been in prison for many years.
Calling on authorities, "We want the victims of February 28 and FETO judiciary to be released immediately without any excuse or delay," the initiative said in the press statement.
Stating that they have gathered to demand freedom of Islamic prisoners who have been suffered from the persecution of February 28 and FETO judiciary, Hüseyin Ayaydın, on behalf of the initiative, said: "We are here in demand of freedom for the Yusufis, who were supposed to be acquitted."
Ayaydın stated that those Islamic prisoners have been sentenced to life sentences aggravated by false evidence and slanders with false statements signed in the interrogations without a lawyer and tormented by torture.
Pointing that the prisoners are suffering in prisons while their family suffering outside, Ayaydın noted that political powers, governments, judicial members have changed in 20 years, but unfortunately, no steps have been taken at the point of elimination of the grievances of the Yusufis.
"In the face of this lawlessness, which the president has repeatedly voiced and which has been raised in parliament, there is a serious contradiction in the fact that no concrete judicial, administrative or legal steps have been taken," he said.
Ayaydın stated that the accounts of the stolen lives by 28 February have not been asked and the coup process continues for the families of hundreds of prisoners and those imprisoned for more than 20 years.
Stating that Feb. 28 postmodern coup cannot be treated as a legitimate trial while it is called a coup by almost every environment, Ayaydın underlined that there is no explanation for the continuation of this cruelty, which is contrary to even the principles of law and logic.
"It is not a demand for forgiveness; it is a demand for fair trial," Ayaydın said at the end of press release. "Give this right at least to the oppressed who spent their lives in prison for many years! Authorities have the opportunity to resolve these grievances."
