Iraqi armed forces will prevent "foreign power" cross-border attacks against Turkiye, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said in a telephone conversation with Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım.
"Abadi gave instructions to Iraqi forces to prevent foreign forces cross-border attacks against Turkiye," said in a statement from Iraqi Prime Minister's Office.
"We reject any border violations against Turkiye," said Abadi and that the Iraqi forces are in full control of borders it quoted him as saying.
"In Iraq, where they won against DAESH, we expect necessary measures to be taken against the PKK in the framework of our neighborly relations," said in a statement made by Turkish Prime Minister's Office.
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said last week in a statement that Turkiye will expand its operations started with Syria and will cover Sinjar region.
