Wildfires in the Black Sea region of Turkey fully contained, the Forest Minister says

Wildfires, which have been lasting for 3 days in the Black Sea region, have been completely contained and cooling works are continuing in the area, the minister announced on Thursday.

Speaking to the press in Trabzon, Turkey's Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli said:  "A total of 280 hectares area was damaged, including 10 hectares of hazelnut garden. Due to the wind speed of 170 Km/h and the difficulty of the terrain conditions, we brought all the fires under control after 65 hours of struggle. Sometimes we also transfered personnel by planes. Personnel came from provinces such as Antalya, Adana, Izmir and Muğla."
