Stubble fire causes pileup: 8 injured
At least 8 people were injured in a pileup accident that resulted in the fall of the sight distance due to the stubble fire next to the road on Batman-Bismil highway in southeastern of Turkiye.
At least 8 people were injured in a pileup accident that occurred due to the dropping of the sight distance and 6 vehicles were involved on Batman-Bismil highway.
According to the information, the accident took place on Batman-Diyarbakir highway 11 kilometers near to the province of Bismil. The smoke of the stubble burning covered road by the wind. Sudden dropping of sight distance due to smoke led to a pileup traffic accident.
A minibus, a trailer, a pickup truck, 3 private vehicles in total 6 vehicles involved in the accident, while 8 people were injured, the situation of some said to be heavy. There was a lot of damage in the vehicles.
Numerous health and rescue teams reportedly were dispatched to the scene. Wounded people were taken to Bismil State Hospital to be treated.
When the traffic flow was stopped due to an accident, long vehicle queues were reported. The traffic flow was restored by removing the vehicles involved in the accident from the roadside. The gendarmerie and traffic police initiated an investigation into the accident.
On the other hand, the smoke caused by the stubble fire covered the road, and therefore the drivers who suffer from the distance of sight, reacted to these burned their lands caused an accident. The drivers who express their concern with such accidents demanded high punishment for those burn lands.
