Syrian Trilateral Summit to be held in Ankara

Syria's second Tripartite Summit that the first was held in Sochi between Turkiye, Iran, and Russia, to be held in Ankara on April 4.

Syrian Trilateral Summit will be held in Ankara on April 4 with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin, and Iranian President Hasan Rouhani.

Summit's main agenda headline will be a political solution in Syria. Three guarantor countries will discuss the protection of territorial integrity of Syria, the areas of tension reduction established at the end of the Astana process. Steps to be taken for political settlement and the fight against terrorism.

Bilateral talks between Erdoğan and Rouhani are also envisaged in the summit. According to the statement made by the presidency, regional issues, as well as bilateral relations, will be discussed.

According to a statement from the Presidential Press Center, Turkiye-Russia Top Level the seventh meeting of the Cooperation Council will be held in Ankara on April 3, the day before the summit, with the participation of ministers in the co-chairs of Erdoğan and Putin.

In the meeting, issues such as Turkish Current Project, Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, and S-400 air defense system will be on the table beside bilateral relations.

Erdoğan and Putin will join the groundbreaking ceremony of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant.
