"Tell Rifaat" under TAF and FSA control - unconfirmed
It was claimed that the Turkish Armed forces [TAF] and Free Syrian Army [FSA] have taken control of the Tell Rifaat region following the Afrin city center.
Turkish Armed Forces and Free Syrian Army members reportedly took control of Tell Rifaat after Afrin operation.
According to reports from the region, an operation has begun against Tell Rifaat, where eyes were turned after the control was completely ensured in Afrin. According to the claim of local sources, control was fully provided at Tell Rifaat by TAF and FSA forces.
It was stated that the operation started with "Euphrates Shield" and continued with "Olive Branch Operation" conducted by TAF and FSA, will continue with Tell Rifaat and Manbij to form a 30 kilometers deep safe zone till Aleppo along in the border of Turkiye with Syria.
"We hit the first strike with Euphrates Shield. Then with Olive Branch Operation, we cut the terror corridor effort tried to bind to the Mediterranean. In a short period of time we will take Tell Rifaat under control," President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said.
Located in the north-west of Syria, Tell Rifaat is 40 kilometers from Aleppo. Tell Rifaat, which had a population of 20,000 in the census of 2004, has a position close to Mare, which was taken with the operation of Euphrates Shield by Turkiye. Tell Rifat is 17 kilometers away from Turkiye with the bird's-eye view.
