The latest situation in the Dicle Dam
The water level in the Dicle Dam, which one of its gates collapsed recently due to pressurized water, has decreased by about 5 meters, while the water level in the river itself increased and caused damage.
Due to lowering water level in Dicle Hes Dam, which increased because of excessive precipitation, one the dam's gate has collapsed a few days ago by pressurized water in Diyarbakır's Eğil district, in Selman Neighborhood.
The water level in the dam decreased by approximately 5 meters in the footage shot by ILKHA's drone team. It is seen in the footage that the second and the third gates of the dam was opened in order to drainage.
Within the decrease of water level, the destructions in roads, fields, and bridges caused by the pressurized water have emerged.
The new gate will be replaced on Tuesday
On the other hand, the collapsed gate of the dam will be replaced on December 18 said DİSKİ Regional Manager Ali Gökyel in a statement.
