The US puts Haniyeh on "terror blacklist"
US State Department has added Ismail Haniyeh, the senior political leader of Hamas resistance movement, on "terror blacklist".
According to the Palestinian Information Center, the US State Department designated Ismail Haniyeh, Hamas Political Chief, on a "list of foreign terrorists".
Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh served as the Palestinian prime minister before the Palestinian reconciliation government was established.
On the terror list of the US State Department, there is the name of a large number of Palestinians and Arabs.
Washington took 4 of Hamas' leading names on the list of terrorists. Yahya Es- Sinvar, Ruhi Müshtehi, and Mohammed Ed-Dayf were put into the list in September 2015 and then Fethi Hammad were added.
According to the decision, Haniyeh is now on the U.S. Treasury sanctions blacklist, which freezes any U.S.-based assets he may have and bans any U.S. person or company from doing business with him.
Washington argues that people on the list are a threat to US citizens and a threat to America.
