The US to remain in Syria some more time longer
After US President Trump expressed his intention to withdraw from Syria, "The US and our partners remain committed to eliminating the small Daesh presence in Syria that our forces have not already eradicated," the White House said.
Despite the statement of President Donald Trump's "We will withdraw from Syria," a meeting of the National Security Council was held at the White House on the back of an opposite statement from Central Commander Joseph Votel.
National Intelligence Director Dan Coats announced at the meeting that the American troops in Syria had come to a decision over the situation. Coats did not explain the content of the decision.
According to White House officials, the US troops will stay in Syria for some more time longer. Speaking to Reuters, US officials expressed that the US President Trump wanted this process not to extend.
Trump, on Tuesday, has said publicly that he is ready to withdraw troops from Syria.
