Their reckoning will not end until adhan voices are silenced in Istanbul
Stating that there are people who still suffering from losing Istanbul for 566 years, Turkish President Erdoğan noted that reckoning of those people will not end until the adhan voices are silenced over Istanbul.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the celebrations of the 566th anniversary of Istanbul's conquest at Eurasia Performance and Arts Center in Istanbul.
President Erdoğan congratulated citizens for the last 5 days of the Ramadan and also congratulated for the night of al-Qadr that to be observed on Friday thought to be better more than a thought month.
During his speech, President Erdoğan stressed the importance of Istanbul not only to Turkey but also to the world.
Describing the city as the apple of eyes of the world, he said: "Istanbul is the heart of the world. Serving Istanbul means serving not only Turkey but also the world."
