There is no extradition of non-life safety foreigners: Immigration authority
Turkish General Directorate of Immigration Administration issued a written statement on the news, titled "deport to death," which appeared in the headline of a newspaper on Sunday.
"There is no and will be no extradition of any foreigner who has no life safety, who may be subjected to torture and inhumane treatment [in their country]," said Turkish Immigration authority on Sunday in a statement.
Stating that the news is not reflecting the truth, the directorate said the application for a long-term (indefinite) residence permit of the said Uighur person has been rejected because it does not carry the terms and the printed notification used to apply for all rejected residence has been made to him.
"The person named has not been deported, nor has there been any deportation decision," the directorate noted, adding further information that the said person has not even taken to repatriation centers while he still lives freely in the country.
"Although the application for a long term residence permit has been rejected because he does not carry the conditions, it has been explained to him as written in the form that he can apply for other residence permits which are suitable for him."
