Five people, who were trying to cross the border from Iraqi Kurdistan to Turkiye, lost their lives by exposure at the near Şemdinli district of Turkiye's Hakkari.

The villagers who saw 5 frozen body on the other side of the border, which was near Samanlı village 70 kilometers far from Şemdinli, informed the gendarmerie about the lifeless bodies.

After the study of gendarmerie teams in the region, it was reported that 5 people, including 3 children and 1 woman lost their lives by exposure while trying to cross Turkiye.

On the announcement of the Turkish soldiers, the funerals were taken from the border by the Kurdistan Region authorities. (ILKHA)
