A Turkish high-speed train traveling from Ankara to Konya collided head-on with another locomotive and then hit a pedestrian overpass kills 9 and injured dozens on Thursday in Marşandiz station, located in Ankara's Yenimahalle district.

Providing information related to the crash, Minister of Transport Cahit Turhan said that 9 people lost their lives including 3 mechanics, while 47 people injured. Minister Turhan also added that necessary research and investigation are underway on the scene.

Conveying his condolences through his official Twitter account, Sağlam said: "I wish mercy from Allah for those lost their lives in the high-speed train crash, which was traveling between Ankara and Konya, patience for their lovers and I wish immediate recovery to those injured in the crash."

"Those who have negligence in the train crash should be identified and account before the judiciary," he added.
