Tsunami warning issued after a 7.8 quake hits US
A 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit off Alaska in the United States, the US Geological Survey announced on Wednesday.
The epicenter of earthquake was located at 60 miles, or 98 kilometers, south-southeast, of Perryville, Alaska.
The quake, which was felt hundreds of miles away, is considered shallow at about six miles, or 10 kilometers, deep.
A tsunami warning was issued after the earthquake but it was canceled within about four hours.
