Turkey: Agricultural Input Price Index rises by 24.43% annually
Agricultural Input Price Index (Agricultural-IPI) increased by 24.43% annually and 2.49% monthly, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Friday.
Agriculture-IPI (2015=100) increased by 2.49% compared to the previous month, increased by 9.20% compared to December of the previous year, increased by 24.43% compared to the same month of the previous year and increased by 15.42% compared to twelve months moving averages, in May 2021.
Monthly changes with respect to the previous month by main groups, goods, and services currently consumed in the agricultural index increased by 2.43% and goods and services contributing to the agricultural investment index increased by 2.81%. The goods and services currently consumed in the agricultural index increased by 24.27% and the goods and services contributing to the agricultural investment index increased by 25.39% compared to the same month of the previous year.
The highest annual increase was 45.90% in the fertilizer and soil improvers subgroup
The other subgroups that indicated a high increase were farm buildings (non-residential) with 41.43% and maintenance of buildings with 37.49%. On the other hand, seeds and planting stock with 9.15%, plant protection and pesticides with 11.49%, and other goods and services with 18.96% were the subgroups that low annual increase realized.
The highest monthly increase was 4.75% in the farm buildings (non-residential) subgroup
By the other subgroups that indicated a high increase was the maintenance of buildings with 3.92% and other goods and services with 3.40%. On the other hand, veterinary expenses with 0.21%, seeds and planting stock with 0.42%, and plant protection and pesticides with 0.65% were the subgroups which low monthly increase realized.
