Turkey and Russia on Monday morning began their third joint patrols in northern Syria east of the Euphrates river, Turkish Defense Ministry said in a statement on Twitter.

"The fourth joint land patrol between Turkish and Russian units has begun in the al-Darbasiyah region east of the Euphrates with UAV support as part of the agreement made in Sochi in 22 October 2019," the statement said.

According to the agreement between Ankara and Moscow, the patrols should conduct within a depth of up to 10 km inside Syrian territory east and west of the area under Turkey's exclusive control, or 120 km of border between Tal Abyad and Ras al Ayn.
