Turkey-Russia complete tenth joint patrols in Syria, Turkish Defense Ministry says
Turkey and Russia on Saturday completed their tenth joint patrols in northern Syria east of the Euphrates river, Turkish Defense Ministry said in a statement.
"The tenth joint land patrol between Turkish and Russian units and UAV support has been completed in the eastern Euphrates as according to plan. A total of eight vehicles comprising of four from each side participated in the tenth join land patrol along with UAVs in the Ras al-Ayn – Qamishli sector. Turkish and Russian units patrolled an area of 51 km length and 10 km depth," The Ministry said.
According to the agreement between Ankara and Moscow, the patrols should conduct within a depth of up to 10 km inside Syrian territory east and west of the area under Turkey's exclusive control, or 120 km of border between Tal Abyad and Ras al Ayn.
