Turkish exports increase by 6% on an annual basis in January

Turkish Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan announced on Monday that Turkey's exports rose 6.1% on an annual basis to $14.8 billion in January

"In January of this year, our exports increased by 6.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 14.8 billion dollars. This figure is the highest January export in the history of Turkey Republic," she said.

She noted that in the same period, imports were realized as 19.2 billion dollars with an increase of 18.9 % and foreign trade volume increase to 34 billion dollars with an increase of 13%.

"We will continue our successful performance in foreign trade in 2019 with the same determination in 2020. I congratulate our exporters who contributed to this important success and wish them success," she added.
