A rise in general index was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 1.25%, on December of the previous year by 13.04%, on same month of the previous year by 19.58% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 16.42% in September 2021.

Compared to general CPI, lower annual change observed in 7 main groups while 5 main groups were higher

The lowest annual increase was 1.80% in alcoholic beverages and tobacco. Communication with 4.99%, clothing and footwear with 7.32% and recreation and culture with 12.45%, were the other main groups where low annual increases realized. On the other hand, food and non-alcoholic beverages with 28.79%, furnishings and household equipment with 23.27% and hotels, cafes and restaurants with 23.27% were the main groups where high annual increases realized.

Compared to general CPI, lower monthly change observed in 7 main groups while 5 main groups were higher

The only main group that decrease observed was clothing and footwear with 0.16%. Alcoholic beverages and tobacco with 0.05%, communication with 0.47% and food and non-alcoholic beverages with 0.50% were the main groups that indicated lowest monthly increase. On the other hand, education with 5.15%, furnishings and household equipment with 3.33% and housing with 2.34% were the main groups where high monthly increases realized.

In September 2021, within average prices of 415 items in the index, the average prices of 51 items decreased and the average prices of 46 items remained unchanged while the average prices of 318 items increased.
