Turkish police seize 265 kg of heroin in eastern Turkey
Two suspects were arrested on charges of drug trafficking in the Ipekyolu district of Turkey’s eastern Van province on Saturday.
A total of 265 kg of heroin was seized during a search in a truck in the Ipekyolu district, the Provincial Police Department said in a statement.
The suspected drug dealers, identified by initials M.Ü. and G.Ü., will be brought before the court after the police investigation is completed.
Turkey maintains strict laws against the use, possession, or trafficking of illegal drugs. If convicted under these offenses, one could receive a heavy fine or a prison sentence of 4 to 24 years.
