Turkish police seize 473 kg of heroin in eastern Turkey
Two suspects were arrested on charges of drug trafficking in Turkey’s eastern Van province on Wednesday.
A total of 473 kg of heroin was seized during searches in a house and a vehicle in the Ipekyolu and Tuşba districts, the Provincial Police Department said in a statement.
Two suspected drug dealers will be brought before the court after the police investigation is completed.
Turkey maintains strict laws against the use, possession, or trafficking of illegal drugs. If convicted under these offenses, one could receive a heavy fine or a prison sentence of 4 to 24 years.
