Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım stated that contacts with the US on Syria and Afrin will operate through a triple mechanism and that the defense and foreign ministers will work among themselves and the intelligence chiefs will work among themselves.

Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım answered the questions of journalists on the return of Belarus- Germany travel. Prime Minister Yıldırım, who attended the Munich Security Conference and made important negotiations, gave details about the negotiations with the USA.

Triple mechanism with the USA

"The common mechanism will be triple in contacts with the United States," the prime minister said. "The ministers of defense, the ministers of the foreign affairs, and the heads of the intelligence agency will work closely with each other. We will discuss the details of this later. Our goal is not to allow any form of threatening our border security. On the other hand, the PKK's attempt to build a so-called terrorist state in northern Iraq with another name should not take place in Syria. The work we do at Afrin now is to get ahead of it," he added.

“The name of the PKK is old and has been designated as a terrorist organization by many countries,” he said, warning against the group’s attempts to form a “terror state in northern Syria under a different name, as it had done in northern Iraq,” said Binali Yıldırım.
