Turkiye's first comment on US offers rewards for key PKK leaders

Welcoming the decision taken by the US that offered rewards for 3 key figures of PKK, Turkish Presidential Spokesman Ibrahim Kalın commented as "came too little, too late".

Presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalın commented the U.S. State Department's decision that offered rewards for 3 key figures on PKK, which $5 million for Murat Karayilan, $4 million for Cemil Bayik, and $3 million for Duran Kalkan.

Stating that the US separate the PKK from the YPG and PYD, Kalın said, "They cannot fool us. We have repeatedly told them that the organic link between them is not instrumental."

Welcoming the US' decision offered rewards for key PKK leaders, Kalın commented for the decision "came too little and too late". "We welcome if they do this, but if it is something to cover YPG engagement in the big picture, then the truth will be revealed soon."

Regarding the US sanctions against Iran, Kalın said, "We are not going to give up our own national interests because the United States is imposing sanctions on a country for one reason or another. It is clear that these recent sanctions are political."
