President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a message on Eid al-Fitr and congratulate all citizens on Eid al-Fitr.
“We have left behind another month of Ramadan, the beginning of which is mercy, the middle is forgiveness, and the end is salvation," the President said.
"I thank our Lord for allowing us to reach another Eid, during which the estranged reconcile, the separated get together, the ranks are closed, hopes are renewed and hearts beat with excitement," the message read.
"It saddens our hearts to know that there are our brothers and sisters across the world who suffer under oppression, struggle in need and poverty even during the Eid," the message noted.
"It is our desire that not only our citizens but also all Muslims and the entire mankind enjoy the Eid in its true spirit."
Turkish President underscored that Turkey continues to be the hope of all its friends and mankind by standing tall with its democracy and economy despite terrorist attacks, obstacles, and traps.
"The world has entered into a period of great transformation which will shape the next century. The biggest advantage our country has now is that it meets this critical period not in a weak state like the 1990s but in a strong state," the message read.
"Thanks to the investments we made, projects we carried out and services we delivered in the last 17 years, Turkey is now in a position to turn this period into an opportunity."
"The disaster scenarios, spread about our country, are aimed at demoralizing our people and at making them drop their guard. Just like we have overcome the problems we encountered so far, we will resolve our issues in the period ahead with Allah’s help and our people’s sagacity," the message read.
"We will continue to march towards our goals for 2023 with everyone who believes in Turkey, who pins their faith in the Turkish Nation, who trusts in our freedom and future. We will get our country out of this predicament by being united, great, strong and brothers with our 82 million citizens in 81 provinces and with our brothers and sisters living abroad, by being Turkey altogether."
"The greatest contribution we can make to our children is to leave them a great, powerful and prosperous Turkey, where they can realize the visions for 2053 and 2071," President Erdoğan underlined.
"Throughout our political life, we have acted in line with the principle of always delivering on our promises and not giving promises we cannot keep. For example, we promised a bonus to our retirees. We immediately put it into action last year. We will deliver on our promises in other areas in a planned manner. We will regard what we have accomplished so far as merely a start and will endeavor to do more," President Erdoğan noted.
"I hereby call on all our entrepreneurs including industrialists, farmers, vendors, exporters, merchants, and artisans. Let us make Turkey greater altogether. Mobilize your manpower and capital, your experiences, means, and capabilities for Turkey’s future. Today is the day to shoulder responsibility for your country and your nation. Rest assured that we as the state and the government will stand with you with all our means and capabilities," President Erdoğan said.
"I would like to take this occasion to remember with grace all our martyrs and veterans who risked their lives without hesitation to make these lands our homeland since the Victory of Manzikert. I wish success to our security forces who fight both inside and outside our borders to ensure that we live in peace and safety."
"Follow the traffic rules"
"I would like to call on all our drivers, who are on the road on occasion of the Eid, to be careful, to follow the rules, to not risk their own lives and the lives of their loved ones," President Erdoğan underlined.
"With the investments we made, we have increased the length of divided roads in Turkey from 6,100 kilometers to 26,641 kilometers, adding 20,541 kilometers. We have built 1,128 kilometers of highway, increasing the total length up to 2,842 kilometers."
"For your travels, we have provided many transportation alternatives, including airports and high-speed train lines. By prolonging the Eid holiday to 9 days with an additional 1.5 days of administrative leave, we have ensured everyone can easily visit wherever they want. I ask you to use these means in the safest and most planned way. Eid Mubarak! Peace be upon you."
