Turkiye's reaction to the release of Saleh Muslim in the Czech Republic
Foreign Ministry reacted to the Czech Court rejected Turkiye's request for provisional arrest former of PYD co-chairman Saleh Muslim.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the release of the former co-president of the PYD, Saleh Muslim, by the Czech court.
The Czech Court’s denial of our provisional arrest request for Salih Müslüm, the leader of PYD terrorist organization, the Syrian branch of the PKK/KCK terrorist organization, does not comply with its obligations under international law to combat terrorism," said in the statement made by the Ministry.
Noting that the PYD is the Syrian branch of the PKK, recognized as a terrorist organization by the European Union of which the Czech Republic is a member, in the statement said: The Czech Court, instead of taking into custody, by releasing Saleh Muslim, demonstrated its indifference towards the loss of dozens of innocent civilian lives and grief of their families. The Czech Republic, with this decision, has revealed once again another example of insincere and unconvincing discourse on counter-terrorism in Europe. (ILKHA)
