TV channel to be set up to battle Islamophobia

Turkey, Pakistan, and Malaysia are setting up joint TV channels to combat Islamophobia.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that Turkey, Pakistan, and Malaysia have decided to establish a joint television channel in the English language in order to eliminate and combat the negativity caused by Islamophobia.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammed, and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan held a tripartite summit in New York, where they are for the 74th sessions of U.N. General Assembly.

"President Erdoğan, PM Mahathir and myself had a meeting today in which we decided our 3 countries would jointly start an English language channel dedicated to confronting the challenges posed by Islamophobia and setting the record straight on our great religion – Islam," Khan wrote on Twitter.

Pakistani Prime Minister Khan added that misperceptions which bring people together against Muslims would be corrected; the issue of blasphemy would be properly contextualized; series & films would be produced on Muslim history to educate/inform our own people & the world; Muslims would be given a dedicated media presence.
