US, France, and Britain prepare to attack Syria

The US, France, and Britain reportedly studying on to launch a military strike on Syria and that the possible operation will start earliest on Monday.

The United States, France, and Britain, who hold the Syrian regime responsible for the chemical weapons attack on the Douma region of Eastern Ghouta, are working on the possibility of a joint military operation. Speaking to the Associated Press [AP] news agency, US officials said the three nations had been exchanging views on a military operation to be held on Monday at the earliest.

Following the chemical attack in Douma, US President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron were on the phone two times. It was stressed that the use of chemical weapons would not be allowed in the statement made following the Trump and the British Prime Minister Theresa May telephone conversation.

French President Macron on Tuesday said that the decision on how France, the United States, and Britain will respond will be announced in the coming days. In a possible military intervention by France in Syria, Macron stated that the target would be the chemical weapons capacity of the Damascus regime.

Despite the fact that the US, France and Britain hold the Syrian regime responsible for the alleged attack on chemical weapons in the Douma, there is no proof that the Damascus regime is behind the attack. US officials also point out that there is no evidence yet in their hands. Saudi Arabia and Qatar also support the possible military operation of the United States, France, and Britain.

On the other hand, the European Air Navigation Safety Authority [Eurocontrol] warned airlines to be cautious on flights over the Eastern Mediterranean, on the grounds that a possible attack on Syria could be carried out.

The statement made by Eurocontrol stated that land-to-air missiles and cruise missile could be launched within the next 72 hours, which could lead to malfunctions in navigation devices. (ILKHA)
