Uzbekistan's Council of Ministers bans headscarves at middle schools

The "Regulations on the Attire of All Middle Schools", which was published in the country's Official Gazette on June 27, 2018, adopted by the Council of Ministers of Uzbekistan, has banned the wear of headscarves in middle schools.
After the decision of the Council of Ministers, "requesting students can go to schools with headscarves," published on the website of Uzbekistan Religious Administration has been removed from the website on June 23.
The government's decision caused a public debate.
According to the regulation; It is stated that the students who do not obey the rule of "wearing the modern school uniform" will be judged according to the relevant articles in the criminal law on the grounds that their parents will be responsible for these behaviors and that "they do not properly train their children".
