Village imam found shot dead
A village imam was found shot dead in the province of Doğubayazıt of Turkiye's Ağrı.
Imam of the Uzunyazı (Néco) village in Ağrı's Doğubayazıt district was found dead with the gunshot on the roadside.
According to the information, citizens saw a person lying on the ground who was shot with a gun near the roadside near the village of Uzunyazı. Gendarmerie and health team were sent to the scene after the news was given.
After the investigation of district Gendarmerie Command and public prosecutor, it made clear that the body belongs to the Uzunyazı's village imam Ramazan Bozdağ.
The Uzunyazı village which Bozdağ was an imam, is located near the border of Turkiye and Iran and known for the route of smugglers.
Doğubayazıt Mufti Mehmet Turan Kancura asked all imams in the district to attend the funeral of Bozdağ.
As will be remembered, in 2012, Yaygınkurt Village Imamı Mehmet Uzun, was killed in front of his wife and children in his home. The PKK had undertaken the murder of Uzun that time.
The village of Imam Uzun was also near the Iranian border and four kilometers far from the village of Bozdağ.
