Turkish Foreign Ministry calls on Iraqi all parties to exercise the utmost restraint to prevent more causalities during the protests.
Turkey expressed its condolences to the Iraqi people for the casualties of the ongoing protests in Iraq and said it believed the Iraqi government would take the necessary steps to meet the expectations of the people.
"We are deeply saddened by the high number of casualties during the protests in Baghdad and several southern provinces in Iraq since October 1, 2019," the statement read.
The ministry also wished Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives and speedy recovery to the injured among the civilians and security forces during the protests.
"Turkey attaches importance to the stability of Iraq. A life of peace and prosperity is our sincere wish for the Iraqi people," it said.
Turkish Foreign Ministry said that they believe that the Iraqi Government will take all necessary steps to address the legitimate expectations of the people.
"We call on all parties to exercise utmost restraint to prevent more casualties during the protests," the statement concluded.
