We don't need stinking laws of the West
Muslims do not need the stinking laws of the West, says Abdullah Toprak, head of the Şanlıurfa Hayrat Humanitarian Association Branch, stated that the Istanbul Convention should be terminated as soon as possible.
People continue reaction to the "Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence", which was signed in Istanbul on 11 May 2011 in order to combat violence against women and domestic violence, which is known as the Istanbul Convention.
Demanding the project to be halted as soon as possible, Abdullah Toprak said the Istanbul Convention did not reduce violence against women, but the convention came into force with the increase in violence against women.
Abdullah Toprak noted that Islam attaches importance to the family, adding that Muslims do not need the stinking laws of the West.
Toprak expressed that enemies of Islam are trying to eliminate family institution with various attacks.
Saying that there have been attacks on the Islamic religion and Islamic Society in different periods throughout history, with different plans, Toprak underscored that the powers that failed to do so sought to end the Islamic world and the family concept through the attacks on family structure in recent history.
"I think that they have created sedition in order to break up the family from the inside, to lift the morale veil between the family members and to bring the family matters to court. They are trying to end the family through these laws by placing Europe's stinking and troubling laws in our country and society."
"Our religion, tradition, customs and culture are enough to protect the family"
Istanbul Convention has caused many grievances, Abdullah said. "There are serious grievances in prisons and courts. These are unfortunately being done through existing laws."
"We certainly shouldn't fall into this sedition. Our religion, tradition, customs, and culture are enough to protect the family. There is no need for other laws and rules."
Describing the solution of family problems in the region, Toprak said family elders intervened and solved the problems in a silent way.
"Keeping father, mother, and child in the courtroom because of problems in the family; imposing a suspension… These are in no way appropriate to our religion or culture," Toprak said, adding that the Istanbul Convention should be terminated and the grievances it creates must be resolved as soon as possible.
