We make every effort to draw attention to injustice in Jerusalem

Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu gave a speech at the meeting of Palestinian ambassadors in Europe.
During the meeting held in Istanbul, Çavuşoğlu stressed that the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, wşth the capital of East Jerusalem, on the basis of the borders of 1967 is not an option but an obligation.
Çavuşoğlu pointed out that Palestine has gone through tough times "and the number of issues we are facing has increased rather than diminishing." In addition to the zionist administration targeting historic and legitimate of the Palestinian people, some other actors also intend to destabilize the region through unilateral and illegal acts."

"Preserving the historical and legal status of Jerusalem is one of the priorities of our foreign policy"
"Israel has repeated the same mistakes rather than learning from the events. Israel, which maintains the inhumane blockade in Gaza, is conducting a reckless campaign of violence against disabling the two-state solution. We will never allow such attempts to overshadow our goal of achieving a just and lasting peace through dialogue and diplomacy, and as Israel intensifies its illegal activities, we will make more effort for peace and justice in the international arena," he added.
"The preservation of the historical and legal status of Jerusalem is one of the priorities of our foreign policy. This is a sacred case for us. We make every effort to draw the attention of the international community to injustice in Jerusalem," he said.
"It is not possible to replace the status of Jerusalem with unilateral acts, we will never allow it," Çavuşoğlu said.
"The establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with its capital, East Jerusalem, on the basis of the borders of 1967, is not an option but an obligation."
Stating that it is the historical and legitimate right of the Palestinian people to live in peace and prosperity, not under occupation and blockade on their own territory, Çavuşoğlu further stressed that no country will be able to confiscate this right.
"No peace plan to ignore the rights of the Palestinians will be accepted by the international community."
He said that they do not find sanctions against Iran correct and that they think that it is too risky and dangerous for the region to be cornered in this way. "We will continue our support for Iran."
Çavuşoğlu noted that they will make more efforts this year to stop the wars in Yemen and Libya.
