We strongly protest the sanction: Foreign Affairs
State Department strongly protest the US Treasury Department's decision to sanction Turkish ministers on the pretext over the spy priest Brunson's arrest.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacted to the decision of the US Treasury to sanction Justice Minister Abdulhamit Gül and Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu on the grounds of spy pastor Brunson's detention.
"We strongly protest the US Treasury Department's decision to sanction our country, said the Ministry.
"This decision, which targets two of our honorable Ministers, neither complies with state seriousness nor is it explicable within the terms of law and justice. There is no doubt that the decision, which disrespectfully intervenes with our judicial system, stands in contrast to the essence of our relations and will seriously damage the constructive efforts made in order to resolve problems between the two countries," said Turkish Foreign Affairs in the written statement.
The Ministry made a call upon the US administration to go back on this wrong decision and warned that an equivalent response to this aggressive attitude will be given immediately.
