We to continue the operation "Euphrates Shield" with Afrin
President Erdoğan said that the operation "Euphrates Shield" will be continued with Afrin in the coming days.
"In the coming days, we will continue operation with Afrin that we started first with Euphrates Shield Operation to purge organizations from our southern borders,” Erdoğan said in his speech at the provincial congress meeting of his ruling AK Party in the central Anatolian Tokat province.
"We know very well the terrorist in Syria and the terrorist in our country," said Erdoğan and added: "One night we can come unexpectedly, follow us, and the slightest harassment in our borders is a signal flare of the steps we should take. Some countries can try to make friends with the various structures of what they regard as terrorists. Terrorists are terrorists everywhere for us."
“Despite everything, we believe we have in common interests with America in the region, we hope to act together. Because it’s time to help Turkiye, time to qualify strategic cooperation,” he noted.
"We expect from our allies that they behave in accordance with the spirit of our deep-rooted relationship during this process," Erdogan said.
"We expect them to support Turkiye's legitimate efforts," the president added.
Erdoğan also hoped the allies would not make "mistakes" such as "taking sides with” the terrorist organization during the Afrin operation.
